LobLogix is a platform that produces the backend of a business application. You describe the application in everyday language and agree in writing what it will do, and LobLogix builds its backend and checks it against what you approved. The short name for this kind of product is a backend-producing platform as a service, or BaPaaS.

Backend and frontend

What you do

You explain what your business needs: what you keep track of, who does what, and which rules must always hold. You write it the way you would explain it to a new colleague.

What LobLogix does

  1. An assistant asks questions, then writes a numbered list of what the application will do. Each item ends with a Done when sentence.
  2. When you agree, it writes the full specification, called the Living Spec, in business terms.
  3. It writes checks from that specification. You review them and lock them.
  4. It builds the backend and runs it against the checks. A version that fails is not released.
  5. You try the result in plain words, with sample records, or connect your own frontend, and sign it off.

Nothing is built or changed until you say yes. Every later change is shown to you first.

What you end up with

What LobLogix is not

LobLogix builds the backend. It does not build the frontend, and it does not build websites. See What LobLogix builds, and what it doesn’t.

LobLogix is in alpha. What the alpha includes sets out its range, its limits and what comes after it.
